This process will enable us to get your information beforehand and will speed up the process and lower the waiting time after you arrive at the Embassy.


Holder of the 1st generation ID cards / Big handwritten ID (sample shown below) are required to apply for an ID card and are considered to be first time applicants.


Holder of 2nd generation ID cards are not required to apply for a new ID unless ID is lost, mutilated or you wish to update the information on your ID card, i.e. marriage/divorce, adding the correct date of birth (including month and day). This ID can be used to open an account on ecitizen.go.ke and apply for a passport)
