Online Diaspora Remittance Survey
The Kenya Embassy in Washington DC would like to inform all Kenyans in USA and Mexico of the ongoing online survey being conducted by Central Bank of Kenya in collaboration with Kenya National Bureau of Statistics and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The exercise commenced on 19th March 2021 and will be concluded on 17th May 2021.
The purpose of the online survey is to;
- Understand the challenges Kenyans in the diaspora face when they are remitting cash or non-cash transfers.
- Improve the accuracy of data on remittances to Kenya necessary for compilation of the country’s balance of payments and national accounts.
- Collect information on remittance inflows to Kenya to help guide policy with the objective of boosting the role of remittances in supporting the economy and livelihoods.
- Inform how COVID-19 pandemic and other events in source countries affected remittances.
Please note that the respondent will remain anonymous and the data provided will be treated with utmost confidentiality, will not be used by third parties, and the resultant reports will only have aggregated data.
