Meeting with Amb. Prof. Julius Bitok, Principal Secretary for Immigration and Citizens Services

Amb. Prof. Julius Bitok, Principal Secretary for Immigration and Citizens Services held a meeting with Amb. Lazarus Amayo and the Embassy Staff to discuss the delivery of services to the Kenyan Diaspora and other clients.

Hon.William Cheptumo, Chair-Senate Committee on National Security, Defence and Foreign Relations; Hon.Gabriel Tongoyo, Chair-National Assembly Committee on National Administration and Internal Security, and Mr Alexander Muteshi, DG – Immigration made remarks during the discussions.

They expressed commitment to support programs that enhance service delivery to the Diaspora. The PS handed over a Mobile Biometric Kit to the Ambassador, to be used during consular outreach programs to various states across the U.S and other countries of accreditation.

Validity of blue Passport

The Government of Kenya has recently extended the validity of the dark blue machine-readable passport period to November 2022. Kenyans are therefore requested to take advantage of the extension and apply for e-passports as this might be the government’s final extension. It is important to note that Kenyans whose passports have expired can apply for the issuance of emergency travel documents in DC, NY or LA.
