1. Regaining Kenya Citizenship
- For Kenyans born either in Kenya or abroad before 27th August 1987 and who acquired other nationalities BEFORE 27th August 2010.
- For those Regaining their citizenship, please be advised that it is a 2-part process – 1st Regaining ,2nd Declaration. To speed up the process please submit requirements for both and send in as one package. Please send 2 separate money orders for the fees.
Requirements:

- Declaration form duly completed Form 5 and Form 2
- 2 (two) copies of Kenyan passport (Biodata page only) or identity card previously held.
- 2 (two) copies of valid Passport of the other country (Biodata page only).
- 2 (two) copies of Naturalization Certificate of the other country.
- 2 (two) passport size pictures. (Note: Most current picture taken maximum within the last one month)
- If your name on the American documents is different from your name on the Kenyan documents, please provide supporting documentation e.g Marriage Certificate, Divorce decree, Kenyan deed pool (Official name change process) etc.
NB – US Petition for Name change is not legally recognized in Kenya.
- A Money Order or Cashier’s Check of $540.00, Payable to Embassy of The Republic of Kenya.
- A prepaid, self-addressed, UPS, United States Postal Service (USPS) Express overnight or Priority mail with delivery confirmation return envelope must be submitted will all applications.
- Declaration form duly completed Form 5 and Form 2

2. Declaration of Dual Citizenship
- For Kenyans above 18 years of age who are also nationals of other foreign countries (acquired other nationalities AFTER 27th August 2010)
- A dual citizen is required to disclose her/his other citizenship within three months of becoming a dual citizen.
Requirements:

- Applicant must be 18 years or above.
- Declaration form duly completed Form 2 (Notarized on page 2)
- 2 (two) copies of Kenyan Passport (Biodata page only).
- 2 (two) copies of Kenyan National I.D and / or Kenyan Birth Certificate.
- 2 (two) copies of valid Passport of the other country (Biodata page only).
- 2 (two) copies of Naturalization Certificate of the other country.
- 2 (two) passport size pictures. (Note: Most current picture taken maximum within the last one month)

- 2 (two) copies of Kenyan Parent’s National I.D and / or Kenyan Birth Certificate.
- 2 (two) copies of valid Passport of the other country (Biodata page only).
- 2 (two) copies of your Birth Certificate.
- 2 (two) passport size pictures. (Note: Most current picture taken maximum within the last one month)
- A Money Order or Cashier’s Check of $230.00, Payable to Embassy of The Republic of Kenya.
- A prepaid, self-addressed, UPS, United States Postal Service (USPS) Express overnight or Priority mail with delivery confirmation return envelope must be submitted will all applications.

3. Renunciation of Kenyan Citizenship
Requirements:

- Form 15 completed in duplicate and notarized.
- All documents identifying you as a citizen of Kenya i.e. your original Kenyan passport and National ID.
- Notarized Copy of the Certificate of Naturalization.
- Notarized Copy of your U.S.A. passport.
- Formal request letter
- A Money Order or Cashier’s Check of $540.00, Payable to Embassy of The Republic of Kenya.
- A prepaid, self-addressed, UPS, United States Postal Service (USPS) Express overnight or Priority mail with delivery confirmation return envelope must be submitted will all applications.
