Ambassador Amayo address to members of The Africa Society

Ambassador Amayo today addressed the Members of The Africa Society, a national nonprofit, nonpartisan and diverse organization devoted to promoting mutually beneficial partnerships between the United States of America and Africa

The Members of the Africa Society were led by the C.E.O. & Board Chair Amb. Pamela E. Bridgewater. The audience included several former US Ambassadors to Kenya.

The meeting was apprised on Kenya’s response to the socio-economic challenges posed by the COVID 19 pandemic and the state of play of the US-Kenya FTA talks. The resilience of the Kenyan economy borne by recent data was noted as very encouraging for the prospects of a quick turnaround.

Amb. Bridgewater led her colleagues in an interactive engagement with Amb. Amayo on US-Kenya relations and the scope for strengthened partnership in the post-COVID 19 era. Issues robustly canvassed included climate change, Health Diplomacy, the fight against corruption and African regional integration.
