Meeting with US Secretary of Agriculture Sonny Perdue

Ambassador Lazarus O. Amayo had a virtual meeting with Secretary Sonny Perdue of US Department of Agriculture. He welcomed Amb. Amayo to Washington D.C. Both acknowledged the cordial bilateral relationship between Kenya and the USA.

They noted this relationship will be further strengthened once a mutually beneficial outcome emerges from the ongoing US-Kenya FTA negotiations. They were appreciative of the fruitful collaboration between APHIS and KEPHIS on capacity building on combating fruit flies, smart agriculture and SPS compliance issues.
