CONDOLENCE BOOK SIGNING FOR HON. (PROF) GEORGE SAITOTI, EGH, MP AND HON. JOSHUA ORWA OJODE
The Embassy of the Republic of Kenya in Washington, D.C wishes to inform with deep regret, of the demise of Kenya’s Minister of State for Provincial Administration and Internal Security, Hon. (Prof) George Saitoti, EGH, MP and the Assistant Minister, Hon. Joshua Orwa Ojode, who died in a helicopter crash on June 10, 2012, in Nairobi.
Hon. (Prof) George Saitoti was once Kenya’s longest serving Vice President and has also served as Minister in the following Ministries, then Ministry of Finance, Planning & National Development, Ministry for Education, Acting Minister for Foreign Affairs. The Late Hon. Saitoti and Hon. Ojode had implacable dedication to Kenya’s internal security issues and will be remembered for their relentless efforts to wipe out insurgent groups that caused mayhem and instilled fear to the public. They were steadfast in promoting peace and security in Kenya, worked relentlessly to restore public confidence and never compromised security matters.
The President of the Republic of Kenya, H.E. Mwai Kibaki has declared three (3) days of national mourning. Burial dates will be announced later.
A condolence book is be available for signing at the Embassy of the Republic of Kenya, 2249 R Street, NW, Washington DC, 20008 from Tuesday June 12, 2012 to Thursday June 14, 2012 from 11.00am – 1.00pm and 2.00pm – 3.00pm.
